5. LGAGEN Overview

LGAGEN reduces real time EPD archive files produced by EPDPROC to data in the LGABLOCK format. The program allows the user to choose the LGA format number, which determines the accumulation period and channel map used. The data is then extracted from the appropriate rate file, averaged, and written to a LGA archive file. The following steps are taken:

  1. Initialize LGAGEN.
    • get time to process
    • get LGA mode to create
  2. Read EPD archive records.
  3. Average records over the appropriate amount of time.
  4. Write the LGA archive record.

**Known deficiency of this document: "Items to include: more detailed account of the LGAGEN's activity, including how sectors in record mode and real time mode are aligned."  See other documents on this website.
